What is PregnancyResource.org?

PregnancyResource.org was originally developed by a group of 9 pregnancy centers in Northeast Ohio. As a marketing alliance created in 1997, PregnancyResource.org has been designed to pool the resources of Northeast Ohio's individual pregnancy centers and reach out to women locally and worldwide.

The nonprofit, non-political social service agency is an organization that seeks to communicate a message of hope and empowerment to women worldwide facing unintended pregnancies and connect them with pregnancy resource centers in their local region.

Will my identity be kept confidential?

We respect your privacy and all information is kept strictly confidential.

What are the qualifications of people who answer the national toll free & local helplines?

Pregnancy Resource Center employees & volunteers undergo comprehensive training. Prior to working on the helplines, each person is required to learn active listening skills and crisis intervention techniques.

Will I be talking to a national organization if I call?

When you call the toll free 800 number helpline, you'll be connected directly with the local Pregnancy Resource Center in your area. A trained, caring person will be there to listen, offer help and resources. Yet, when not in close proximity to a center, your call will be routed to the national offices where a person will refer you to the nearest center and make sure you receive assistance.

Each pregnancy center is autonomous, but all are networked or affiliated with national organizations such as Heartbeat International, Care Net and the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA).

How are Pregnancy Resource Centers able to provide free services?

We are supported by generous gifts from individuals, corporations, private foundations and churches who believe in our cause. As a result, we are able to offer our services free of charge to women & men. Most pregnancy resource centers do not accept government funding.
